The high level of competition in the freight and passenger transportation market requires economic entities to optimize the use of existing infrastructure and systematically assess its potential. Under these conditions, a scientifically grounded methodology that enables a comprehensive evaluation of the logistical potential of transport routes based on integral indices becomes increasingly relevant. This article
focuses on the development and application of an integral index for assessing the logistical potential of transport routes, particularly the Northern Sea Route (NSR). A universal formula is proposed, which takes into account delivery time, total costs, reliability and risks, as well as the possibility of adjusting weight coefficients to reflect strategic priorities and market conditions. Despite the significant number of scientific
and practi-cal studies on logistics process optimization, no unified and universal approach to assessing the potential of transport routes has yet been developed.
Keywords: logistical potential, Northern Sea Route, maritime routes, logistics potential index, weight coefficient, integral assessment.
